Political Sports

Congratulations to the University of North Carolina for winning the National Championship! Congratulations to Joeseph Taylor, who exactly is Josepeh Taylor, well he was the winner of the ESPN Tournament Bracket Challenge by correctly picking all but 5 games correct, check his bracket here http://games.espn.go.com/tcmen/entry?entryID=1042011 . This includes all Elite Eight teams, Final Four teams and the championship game; guess what I picked UNC also- woo hoo- and finished in the top 11% of the nation. Besides hearing about UNC winning the tournament all day we also heard about President Obama's bracket and how he fared- top 20% in the nation, that's right I beat him! I have not problem with him filling out a bracket on his own time and even on ESPN, but I do have a problem with him filling out his bracket on an hour special that ESPN did. The President flew in Andy Katz to help him fill his bracket out and every sports show and news station followed this story as closely as they would if our national debt turned to zero. I think our President has some other more important things on his agenda to worry about, but at least our President isn't the only one tracking this, the President of Turkey today congratulated Mr. Obama on his great bracket!

Speaking of Presidents and sports I was listening to the Indians/Rangers game on the radio for about 5 minutes yesterday. During that time they were interviewing former President Bush (W) and they asked him if the commissioner's job were to open in Major League Baseball would he consider it. Immediately I thought "NO!" but then I remembered who the commissioner currently is and I am not sure if we could get any worse, maybe that is what baseball needs is a fan and not a smart businessman.
